Home

Since 2000 our house has been transformed into a bed and breakfast which welcomes all guests that want to spend a vacation in Sorrento Peninsula but want to enjoy peaceful places which are well connected to Sorrento and its surroundings. While you are a guest in our bed and breakfast, you will feel home. The owners are reserved people but they are ready to share some time with you if you want to and, besides that, if the daily routine is not too hard, Carmela and Tonino will be happy to invite you to dinner. One of our guests exclaimed: 'O my God!' when on the way back from a trip to Pompeii, red in face was invited to dinner with his wife, a serious member of Canada Army. That night Swedishes, Neapolitans, Americans sat at the same table and enjoy a tasteful dinner while Max the Cat moved round in search of hugs. The menu was rich: maccaroni with zukkini, mozzarella cheese made by the famous Gennarino, the tomatoes in oil prepared by Tonino, all varieties of peaches sunk in Falanghina white to exalt their taste, fried chops of aubergines, filled bell peppers which are not good for the diet but deserve to be eaten. All this huge amount of food was offered to the guests and they were 'menaced' to have the same stuff for breakfast if they did not clean all the dishes!!! It cannot be forgotten the fried fish, which had been bought that same morning from Tonino directly from the fishermen upon their return early in the morning. And in the end Limoncello and Tiramisu, both handmade by Carmela whose recipes are still a secret!

The daily service that Orchid Corner offers in the price is the room cleaning. Agnese will be your maid, who like a Pink Panther moves around the bed and breakfast with soaps, brushes and a lovely smile to be always at your disposal.

Moving round the bed and breakfast you will find the small terrace fully decorated with different varieties of plants, big and small, nice and old, to which Carmela and Tonino dedicate lots of time and words. The vases are chosen with great care and sometimes Carmela likes to decorate them herself. She will tell you the story of the Christmas tree not without some tears and of the freezing night when quite half of the orchid plants died. But there are also the stories of the ceramic fish hung on the wall which is the souvenir of a guest whose memory is still in the heart of the owners, the story of the old entrance door which no one wants to fit, and the stories about their family that Carmela and Tonino will be pleased to tell you.
